Much as in the "Wizard of Oz," one of our little souls is in desperate need of a healthy heart. This time it is not the Tin Man, but our brave little lion, Lalo.

Lalo moved in with us recently, with stellar medical records from Miami Dade, as well as a private vet in the area. Upon taking him in for his dental updates, it was sprung upon us that this private vet had detected a heart murmur in our little lion around the first of the year and recommended treatment to Lalo's previous humans, who in turn were not able to proceed.

Now, 9 months later, Lalo is scheduled to begin his treatment. A sweet soul with so much love in his heart, we hope the delay won't steal the life from this gentle creature.

Lalo loves his toys and to give kisses to anyone that asks for one. He just wants to live...and love another day.
